Funeral services for Dayle Hall, 87, of Colson, were held October 10 at Whitesburg First Baptist Church. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
He died October 7 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was a son of the late Willard and Bertha Hall, and was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters Bonnie, Bradley, Edna, Emil Opal, Oval and P.J.
He served in the U. S. Army during World War II as mess hall chef for the 41st Infantry Division, was a retired coal miner, later worked at Ella’s Grocery/Samantha’s Market at Colson, and was the night watchman at Holly Hills Shopping Center at Hindman. He was a member of Big Leatherwood Old Regular Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Samantha Hall; a daughter, Kathy, of Whitesburg; and four brothers, Henry, Vernon, Paul and Jr., and a sister, Mildred, all of Indianapolis, Ind.
