A Pennsylvania man who grew up and spent most of his life in McRoberts has died.
John “Corchie” Ellish Jr., 85, of Uniontown, Pa., died August 21.
He was a son of the late Margret and John Ellish, Hungarian immigrants who came to Letcher County.
He was a brother of the late Louie, Joe, Charlie and Billy Ellish, and Helen Ellish Hall.
Surviving are a sister, Margret Ellish Purvis of Bristol, Tenn., and his friend, Charlene Collins.
Funeral services for Mr. Ellish were held September 11 at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in McRoberts.
Burial was in Laurel Grove Cemetery at Ramsey, Virginia.
Everidge Funeral Home in Whitesburg had charge of arrangements.
