Jonathan W. ‘ Duke’ Combs, 65, died January 24 at his home in Jamestown, Ohio.
Born at Seco, he was a son of the late Cicero and Rebecca Ritchie Combs. He was a brother of the late Harlan Combs, Harvey Combs, Edward Combs, Edgar Combs, Bobby Van ‘Jack’ Combs, Annaleigh Foren and Carolyn Sue Breeding.
He was graduated from Whitesburg High School and attended Clark State College, and was employed by the State of Ohio and previously by Cascade Corporation for 13 years.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, June Pratt Combs; a daughter, Holly Combs of Springfield; two sons, Travis Combs and wife Tracy of Springfield, and Jubal Combs, Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren, Aidan Shackelford, Owen Beam, and Sydney, Cheyenne and Hunter Combs; a sister, Katherine ‘Kat’ Hall and husband Gordon, of Bellair Bluffs, Fla.; a brother, Frank Combs and wife Marcella, of Flemingsburg, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held January 29 in Ohio.
