Rites are held for Pauline Barnett




Funeral services for Pauline Barnett, 75, of McRoberts, were held September 28 at Carty Funeral Home in Fleming-Neon. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

A daughter of the late Robert and Bessie Wilson, the widow of James Robert Barnett, and a sister of the late Corraine Derner, she was born at McRoberts. She died September 25 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Barnett was a lab technician and worked at Jenkins Hospital and Dickenson County Medical Center. She also worked in the school system. She was a member of Seco Freewill Baptist Church and the White Shrine.

Sur viving are two daughters, Tammy Barnett and Sherrie Bailey, both of McRoberts; four sons, Gary Barnett, Jenkins; James Robert Barnett II, McRoberts; David Barnett, Panama City, Fla.; and John Barnett, Jackson; 12 grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Vinson, Vinton, Ohio, and Flona Sexton, Colson; a brother, Robert Wilson, Morganton, N.C.; four half-sisters; two stepbrothers; and a sister-inlaw, Opal Williams.
