Funeral services for William Melvin Reach, 83, of Fleming, were held November 10 at Carty Funeral Home in Fleming-Neon. Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery at Nicholasville.
Born in Exeter, Va., to the late Perry and Elsie Dixon Reach, he was a brother of the late James Reach. He died November 8.
He was a disabled U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was retired from the Letcher County School System as a school custodian.
Surviving are his wife, Lavinnia Stewart Reach; a daughter, Stephanie Bonafield of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four stepdaughters, Carol Sue Davis of Lexington, Donna Cheek of High Point, N.C., Phyllis Bates of Jacksonville, Fla., and Marsha Fobes of Ronda, N.C.; three stepsons, Bobby Bates of Matthews, N.C., Gary Bates of Dallas, Tex., and Kevin Napier of Lexington; a grandson, Jason; two great-grandchildren, Storm and Morgan; 10 step-grandchildren and eight stepgreat grandchildren; and two brothers, Kyle Reach of Cromona, and Bobby Reach of Baton Rouge, La.
