Charles Allen Ballou, 79, died June 4 at his home in Bill Moore Branch.
Born in Keno, he was a son of the late Kelly and Ida Jane Casada Ballou, and the widower of Linda Branham Ballou.
He was the father of the late Charles Ballou Jr., a grandfather of the late Sheldon Ray White, and a brother of the late Mary Ann Cook. He was a member of the United Mine Worker Association, and a member of the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are son Rick Ballou of Thornton; seven daughters, Susan Ballou of Eden, N.C., Carol White of Kona, Loretta Baker of Millstone, Sharon Niece of Jenkins, Vonda Fields of Wise, Va., and Darlene Combs and Matricia Ballou, both of Chicago; seven brothers, Eugene Ballou of Kona, Arnold Ballou of Bottom Fork, Hayden Ballou of Salina, Kansas, James Ballou and Ronald Ballou, both of Irvine, Paul Ballou of Xenia, Ohio and Kelly Ballou Jr. of Jenkins. Also surviving are four sisters, Christine Triplett of Illinois, Elaine Polly of Kona, Linda Hampton of Millstone, and Minnie Faye Spangler of Winchester; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June 8 at the Missionary Baptist Church in Millstone. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
Everidge Funeral Home of Whitesburg had charge of the arrangements.
