Charles Lee Potter, 73, of Jackhorn, died January 3 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born at Jackhorn, he was a son of the late Isaac and Annie Little Potter and the widower of Pauline Potter. He was the father of the late Gary Lee Potter and David Ray Potter, and a brother of the late Betty Lois Potter, Estil Potter and Conley Potter.
He was a retired coal miner, an honorary Kentucky Colonel and a former member of the Neon Lonesome Pine Lodge # 884, F&AM.
Surviving are a daughter, Rinda Vae Bentley, Jackhorn; a son, Michael Wayne Potter, Jackhorn; five grandchildren, Whitley Bentley, Nakeia Potter, Michael Lee Potter, Drew Bentley and Ethan Potter; two greatgrandchildren, Annalee Lafferty and Briaden Potter; a sister, Bessie Mae Day, Cowan; and two brothers, Sam Potter, New Lexington, Ohio, and Ruben Potter, Whitesburg.
Funeral services were held January 3 at Carty Funeral Home. Burial was in the Ruben Potter Cemetery.
