Funeral services for Cleve Collier, 70, were held May 16 at Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Burial was in Isom Cemetery.
A son of the late Martin and Mary Collier, formerly of Colley, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bobby Jean and Eva; three brothers, Ken, Bill and Tommy, and his motherin law and father-in-law, Cecil and Jean Martin.
He had taught at a oneroom schoolhouse in the mid-1960s at Dry Fork, and continued his teaching career at Cowan Elementary School.
He was a certified mine foreman, plumber and electrician.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Kay Martin Collier; two daughters, Amy Davidson and husband Johnnie of Hazard, and Andrea Owens and husband Shad of Pikeville; three grandchildren, Andrew Owens, Ella Owens and Emma Davidson; and a brother, Martin ‘Jay’ Collier and wife Anne of Romulus, Mich.
