Rites held for Clyde Collins



Clyde “Pee Wee” Collins, 90, died January 11 at Letcher Manor Nursing Home in Whitesburg.

Born in McRoberts to the late Willard and Lillie Mae Parker Collins, he was the widower of Loraine Pratt Collins, and was later married to Judy Kay Wilson, who survives him.

He was a brother of the late Cleo Bartley.

Mr. Collins was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and was a deacon emeritis of the Whitesburg First Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Lucretia Ann Adams and husband Steve of Louisville; two stepdaughters, Melinda Combs of Apollo Beach, Fla., and Allison Warrix of Whitesburg; a brother, Clifford “Coopie” Collins of McRoberts; two sisters, Cheryl Gibson of Lily and Charlene Collins of McRoberts; a grandson, Joshua Newell Adams and wife Blaire of Louisville; two great-grandchildren, Kathryn Loraine and Evan Parker; and three stepgrandchildren, Shelby, Layla and Mason.

Funeral services for Mr. Collins were held January 14 at the First Baptist Church in Whitesburg. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
