Col. Daryl B. ‘Rick’ Rickard, U.S. Air Force Ret., 67, of The Villages, Fla., died March 23.
Born in Meadville, Penn., he was a career serviceman in the U.S. Air Force, where he served for more than 25 years. He moved to The Villages from Arlington, Va., in 2003.
He was active in the Village View Community Church, was an avid golfer, and also loved to travel. In May of 2011, he took his last trip to Israel with his wife and members of his church, where he was baptized in the Jordan River.
Survivors include his wife, Ingrid; a daughter, Amy of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a brother, Donald Rickard, Unadilla, N.Y.; nephews, Dan Rickard, Spring Hill, Fla., and Kevin Rickard, Unadilla, N.Y.; five stepchildren; 17 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
