David Glen Fleming, 67, died April 17 at Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, Tenn., after a long illness.
He was a member of West Norton Freewill Baptist Church, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the Norton VFW Post 4301 of Norton, Va., former owner and operator of Fleming Electric in Jenkins, and a retired master electrician at Elliott Electric in Pikeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ballard Wesley and Edith Fleming, and two sisters, Carrie Abbondnate and Mildred Reece.
Surviving are his wife, Patsy Fleming; two sons, Chris Fleming and wife Amy of Telford, Tenn., and Wesley Fleming of Kingsport, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Olivia Brooke Fleming and Sydney Drew Fleming; five brothers, Bobby Fleming of Chesnee, S.C., Paul Fleming of Jenkins, Phillip Fleming of Dorton, Danny Fleming of Michigan and Dale Fleming of Dorton; and four sisters, Mabel Burke of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mary Ruth Wanstreet of Kent, Ohio, Dorothy Collier of Dorton, and Sharon Hash of Norton, Va.
Funeral services were held April 21 in Wise, Va. Burial was in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens at Big Stone Gap, Va.
