Funeral services for Dennie Fleming, 72, of Jackhorn, were held August 17 at Carty Funeral Home. Burial was in the Roberts family cemetery at Jonancy.
Born at Speight, he was a son of the late Grady and Minnie Holbrook Fleming and a brother of the late Oliver White, Walter Lee Fleming, Roger Dale Holbrook, Terry Stewart and Kathy Stewart.
He was a heavy equipment operator in the stripmining industry, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Neon Methodist Church, and was an ordained minister for 40 years.
Surviving are his wife, Iolene Roberts Fleming; a son, Dennie Christopher ‘Chris’ Fleming and wife Norene, Jackhorn; a daughter, Paula Miller, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Charissa Fleming and Quaydenn Fleming, both of Jackhorn, and Carlee Sexton, of Tennessee; five sisters, Bobbie Bishop, Las Vegas, Nev., Ezella Dham and Darlene Fleming, both of Sevierville, Tenn., Sherry Marler, Riceville, Tenn., and Linda Henson, Ohio; and four brothers, Billie White, Pike County, Donald Fleming, Ocean Springs, Miss., Danny Joe Fleming, Dandridge, Tenn., and Roger Fleming, Ohio.
