Rites held for Dixie Sparks



Dixie Kincer Sparks, 96, of Mayking, died September 22.

A daughter of the late Lee and Lona Kincer, she was the widow of Ismay Sparks, and a sister of the late Major Kincer and Maxie Wilcox.

She was a member of the Thornton Old Regular Baptist Church and worked in the church lunchroom.

Surviving are four children, Vel Spangler, Kettering, Oh., Eugene Sparks and wife Jeanette and Windle Sparks and wife Shirley, all of Mayking, and Major Sparks and wife Ella of Whitesburg; a sister, Alice Kincer of Mayking; six grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held September 25 at Thornton Old Regular Baptist Church at Mayking. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

Everidge Funeral Home of Whitesburg had charge of arrangements.
