Elmer Elwood Sexton, 84, died March 16 at his residence in Whitesburg.
A son of the late Thomas and Virgie Quillen Sexton he was the widower of Ona Faye Triplett Sexton.
Mr. Sexton was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a member of the Calvary Temple Church of God at Sandlick.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Little Parnell Adams, and two brothers, Jack Sexton and Don Sexton.
Surviving are two daughters, Oma Lou Osborne of North Charleston, S.C., and Tina Renee Adams of Whitesburg; four sons, Charles Edward Sexton and Terry Layne Sexton, both of Whitesburg, Luther Allen Sexton of Erlanger, and Jerry Wayne Sexton of Clay City; four sisters, Irene Dyer of Portsmouth, Ohio, Geraldine Garnett of Alabama, and Anna Mae Cook and Faye Herron, both of Whitesburg; 10 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 19 at Calvary Temple Church of God. Burial was in the Babe Ison Cemetery at Isom.
