Elsie E. Mullins, 87, of Ypsilanti, Mich., died October 23 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
Born in Jenkins to the late Andy and Laura Perkins Mullins, she was the widow of Charlie Foy Mullins. She was the mother-in-law of the late Theresa Mullins and Brenton Sexton, and a grandmother of the late Jeffery Sexton.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Mullins and Margaret Addington, and three brothers, Kenneth Mullins, Willie Mullins and an infant brother.
She was a nurse at Beyer Memorial Hospital and the University of Michigan Hospital, and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #782, the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary # 9600, and the Michigan Licensed Practical Nurses Association.
Surviving are a daughter, Paulette Sexton of Jenkins; a son, Tom Mullins and wife Cheryl Ward Mullins of Ypsilanti, Mich.; four grandchildren, Robbie Sexton and wife Sherri, Kristi Sexton, Michael Mullins and wife Gayle, and Melissa Genik and husband Brian; seven great-grandchildren, Brittany, Kristen, Mollie, Katie, Katelyn, Brenton and Koty; two great-great-grandsons, Caiden and Tucker; a brother, Roy Mullins of Jacksonville, Fla.; and friend Virgil Christophel.
Services were held Oct. 28 in Ypsilanti, Mich. Burial was in Arvil Mullins Cemetery at Pound, Va.
