Ernest “Gene” Eugene Dunn, 80, died August 20 at his home in Republic, Ohio.
Born in Whitesburg to the late Lawrence and Susie Morgan Dunn, he was a brother of the late Andrew Clayton Dunn, Herman A. Dunn, Evelyn Dunn, and Frances J. Dunn Sherman.
He was a veteran the U.S. Air Force, and served in the South Pacific at Enewetak.
Mr. Dunn was graduated from Tiffin University, was a member of the Wade Benfer American Legion Post #404 Republic, and was a Disabled American Veteran. He was retired from Allied Signal Autolite Division as vice president of Manufacturing.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Jacqueline Howard Dunn; three sons, Thomas E. Dunn and wife Renee of Dayton, Oh., and David M. Dunn and wife Robin, and Stephen C. Dunn and wife Donna, all of Republic, Oh.; and a daughter, Deborah Michelle Dunn of Lexington.
Funeral services were held August 23, in Bloomville, Ohio. Military graveside services were held at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, in Tiffin, Ohio.
