Eunice S. Kendrick of Greenville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 at 10:59 p.m., at Baptist Health in Madisonville, Kentucky. She was born March 24, 1927 in Letcher County, Kentucky the daughter of Grant and Hettie Ison Smith. She was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky State University with a B.S. in Education and a minor in Art. She taught for 31 years in the Letcher County School System. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, quilting, working in her garden and was an avid U.K. Basketball fan. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville, the Lydia Sunday School Class and the Young At Heart. She was also a proud Kentucky Colonel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Cantrill Kendrick, and two sisters, Rudell Fields and Velma Sparkman.
A Celebration of her Life will be conducted Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. from Gary’s Funeral Home officiated by Mr. Eddie Browning, Mr. Mike Roll and Rev. Chris Dennis. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.

Son: Donald Reed (Shirley) Kendrick, Sr.
Grandsons: Stephen Grant (Michelle) Raleigh, Donald Reed (Gina) Kendrick, Jr. and Joshua Aaron (Ashley) Kendrick
Brother: Vernon Smith
Sisters: Norma Jean Roark, Janice Smith, and Jackie Gwinn
Great-granddaughter: Jillian Grace Kendrick
She is also survived by her very special neighbors and friends, Turner and Shirley Hancock.
