Evesta Hammonds, 88, died July 31 at Pikeville Medical Center.
A daughter of the late Harrison and Pairlee Ison Banks, she was the widow of Warren Hammonds.
She was the mother of the late Kimberly Hopkins, and was also preceded in death by 10 brothers and a sister.
Surviving are a son, Wendell E. Banks and wife Nina of Crown Point, Ind.; four daughters, Virginia Mae Gaddis of Charlestown, Ind., Iris J. Decker and husband
John of Bronston, Darlene Cook of Greenville, Ind., and Belinda Hall of Whitesburg; 13 grandchildren, Carla, Duane, Tom, Tammy, Jill, Benjamin, Kyle, Jonathan, Jeremy, Katie, Kristopher, Jennifer and Kelly; 11 great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Rebecca, Tee, Mecie, Courtney, Sydney, Kayla, Jonathan II, Kaylee, Jacob and Kinley; and a great-great-grandson, Kyle.
Funeral services were held August 4 in Whitesburg. Burial was in Bony Banks Cemetery at Ice.
