Farmer Amburgey, 88, died August 2 at his home in Columbus, Ind.
Born in Whitesburg to the late William and Stella Bowen Amburgey, he was the widower of Bessie Banks Amburgey.
He was the father of the late Edgar Amburgey, and a brother of the late Bill Amburgey, Dempsey Amburgey, Denver Amburgey and Ossie Amburgey.
He was a retired electrician, a member of New Hope Christian Church, and a lifetime member of St. John’s Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are a son, Ron Amburgey and wife Katrina of Columbus, Ind.; five grandchildren, Melissa Johnson and husband Eric of Logansport, Ind., Jarred Amburgey of Bloomington, Ind., Jordan Smith of Austin, Tex., Brandon W. Smith of Boston, Mass., and David L. Smith of Columbus; and two great-grandchildren, Evan and Noah Johnson.
Funeral services were held August 6 in Columbus, Ind. Burial was in Hawcreek Cemetery in Indiana.
