Funeral services for Frank Sturgill, 66, of Cowan, were held September 19 at Faith Community Church in Whitesburg. Burial was in Edward P. Day Cemetery at Cowan.
He died September 16.
A son of the late Carl and Margie Boggs Sturgill, he was a brother of the late Alma Louise Collins.
He was a member of the Premium Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the 503rd Corps of Engineers in Stuttgart, Germany.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Harvey Sturgill; three sons, David C. Sturgill of Lexington, and John T. Sturgill and Jerry R. Sturgill and wife Tracie Gibson Sturgill, all of Cowan; a daughter, Suzette Anne Sturgill-Sexton and husband Randall of Sandlick; three brothers, James Sturgill, Douglas Sturgill and Charles Sturgill, all of Cowan; six sisters, Helen Brown, Carolyn Sue Gibson and Angelena Morris, all of Dry Fork, Shirley Mullins of Morristown, Tenn., and Doris Mason and Linda Darlene Stidham, both of Kona; and six grandchildren, Jacob Andrew Gibson, Skylar Jenning Sturgill, Anngelena Kate Sturgill, Amelia Jane Sturgill, Franklin Maxwell Sexton and Jax Ryan Sturgill.
