Rites held for Hazel Rayburn



Hazel Fields Rayburn, 91, died June 15 at her home on Big Cowan.

A daughter the late Grant and Jane Miles Fields, she was the widow of Earl Rayburn. She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael, and a daughter, Sonya Rita; three sisters, Mary Lou, Helen, and Hattie; and six brothers, Ed Neil, Fred, Doug, Donald Gay, Benny McIntosh and Eddie McIntosh.

She was a retired cook, but continued to cook for her family and friends.

Surviving are a son, Terry Rayburn and wife Carol, Big Cowan; a sister, Carol Ison and husband Kendall, Big Cowan; a brother, Jimmy McIntosh, Ermine; nine grandchildren, Michael Rayburn III, Katina Collins, Terri Lynn Ratliff, Matthew Rayburn, Rhea Weis, Donna Collins, Becky Collins, Merita Freeman and Samantha McConnell; three step-grandchildren, Lynn Davidson, Randy Sturgill and Ronnie Sturgill; 15 great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June 18 at Everidge Funeral Home. Burial was in the Obey Fields Cemetery at Cowan.
