Herman Crase, 84, of Letcher, died January 18.
A son of the late George and Nora Crase, he was the widower of Mantie Eldridge, and had been married 60 years at her death.
He was devoted husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, and great-great-grandfather to his family.
Mr. Crase was a member of the Masons and Eastern Stars.
He was employed by Pepsi for many years before returning to Kentucky later in life.
Surviving him are two daughters, Marlene Batt and Maretta Smith and husband Danny; four grandchildren, Anna Saxton and husband Tim, T.J. Caudill and Rebekah Ann Hogan, and Rebecca Collins and husband Chris; three great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Everidge and husband Del; and two brothers, Toby Crase and wife Kathy, and Tom Crase; and four sisters-in-law, Helen Crase, Martha Crase, Oma Jo Branson and Ersley Eldridge.
Mr. Crase was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Darlene May; and brothers and sisters, Glen, Dania, Lutichia, Lee, and George.
Funeral services for Mr. Crase were held January 20 at Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Burial was in the Crase family cemetery at Letcher.
