Funeral services for Jack Damron, 87, were held November 26 in Pound, Va.
A son of the late Willie “Buck” and Mary Roberts Damron, he died November 20 at Nashville Veterans Hospital.
He was the widower of Annette Fleming Damron, and a brother of the late Fame Johnson, Bessie Stafford, Bill Damron and Avery Damron.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and served in the 2nd Armored Calvary Tank Division during the Korean War.
Mr. Damron was a former heavy equipment operator, and was a member of the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Allen Damron of Galax, Va., and Jackie Damron and wife Michelle of Gallatin, Tenn.; a niece, Johnnie Hunter and husband Derek of Tobaccoville, N.C.; four grandchildren, Samantha Damron, Jacob Damron, Seth Hunter and Chris Damron; a great-granddaughter, Mallory Damron; three sisters, Joann Hill of Knoxville, Tenn., Dolly Johnson of Thomasville, N.C., and Dora McGrady of Galax, Va.; and a brother, John Damron of Bean Station, Tenn.
