James Emmett McCullum, 79, died January 7 at his home at Jenkins.
Born in Fleming to the late Robert and Mae Reed McCullum, he was a brother of the late Chilton Mc- Cullum, Bobby McCullum and Ronnie McCullum.
He was retired as a coal miner from BethEnergy and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jenkins.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Carrello McCullum; two sons, James McCullum, Jr. and wife Janet, Jenkins, and Larry McCullum and wife Cathey, Honolulu, Ha.; five grandchildren, James III, Ashtan, Kristan, Katelan and Caly; two sisters, Irene Hill, Round Rock, Tex., and Sandy Dettloff, St. Clair Shores, Mich.; and a brother, Stacy McCullum, Shelbyville, Ind.
Funeral services were held January 11 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
