Joseph Kenneth Cantrell, 64, of Cromona, died April 25 at Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital.
A son of Pauline Isbell Cantrell of Cromona, and the late Atchie Cantrell, he was born in Cromona. He was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Anderson, and two brothers, Harold Cantrell and Jack Cantrell.
He was a 1968 graduate of Fleming-Neon High School and attended Calvary College and Whitesburg Vocational School.
Mr. Cantrell was a mining electrician and worked for various companies including
Elmac, Fairchild, and most recently Hall Equipment, and was an active member of The Ben Caudill SCV Camp #1629 and Lonesome Pine Masonic Lodge #884.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two sisters, Regina C. Carmony and husband Jesse of Hopewell, Va., and Alice Faye Jowers and husband Frank of Charleston, S.C.; a friend, Connie Mullins of Cromona; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held April 28 in Neon. Burial was in the Wright Cemetery, at Whitaker.
