Kenneth Bryan Gooch, 78, of Millstone, died June 2 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born in Neon to the late Jennings Bryan and Katie Meade Gooch, he was a brother of the late Ina Hall, Vernon Gooch, and James Gooch.
Mr. Gooch began his professional career teaching at Goose Creek, Seco, and Hemphill schools, then began his banking career at First Security Bank at Neon and later moved to the Whitesburg Office where he was retired as executive vice president of the Whitesburg Market, Community Trust Bank after 38 years.
He was the pastor of Deane Baptist Church for 35 years, and was an avid sports fan and loved watching his children and grandchildren play their individual sports.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ernestine Gooch; a daughter, Robin Elaine Bonnell and husband Allen of Corbin; four sons, Mark Anthony Gooch and wife Pat of Pikeville, Kenneth Bryan Gooch, Jr., of Neon, Phillip Christopher Gooch and wife Cynthia of Hazard, and Dr. Kevin Matthew Gooch and wife Missy of Millstone; a daughterin law, Robin Morgan, of Millstone; eight grandchildren, Gabriel, Natalie and husband Michael, Stacie, Whitney and husband Josh, Jonah, Kassidy, Rachel and Noah; and a sister, Draxie McMillan, of Ravenna.
Funeral services were held June 4 at Millstone Missionary Baptist Church. Burial was in the Kenneth B. Gooch Cemetery at Deane.
