Margie ‘Granny’ Sturgill, 91, of Dry Fork, died December 3 at Pikeville Medical Center.
A daughter of the late Johnny and Sally Ann Maggard Boggs, she was the widow of Carl Sturgill.
She was the mother of the late Louise Collins, the mother-in-law of the late Roy Brown, John Wyatt, Clyde Mason, James Collins and Dale Morris, and a grandmother of the late Rodney Sturgill.
Surviving are six daughters, Helen Brown, Shirley Wyatt Mullins and husband Don, Doris Mason, Sue Gibson and husband Alfred, Angie Morris, and Darlene Stidham and husband Billy Joe; four sons, James Sturgill and wife Daina, Frank Sturgill and wife Carolyn, Douglas Sturgill and wife Dana, and Charles Sturgill and wife Theresa; 34 grandchildren, 48 greatgrandchildren and 11 greatgreat grandchildren; and two sisters, Mable Cook and Millie Frazier and husband Jack.
Funeral services were held December 6 at Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Burial was in Obie Fields Cemetery at Cowan.
