Phillip Ray Griffin, 62, of Jenkins, died January 1 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born in Jenkins to the late John Riley Griffin and Susie Ann Mullins Griffin, he was a brother of the late Bobby Joe Griffin, Paul Stephen Griffin, Reta Sharon Short, and Judy Ann Hopkins.
Mr. Griffin was an avid Rolling Stones fan, and enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle and Volkswagen vehicles he has owned.
He was a welder, and a furnace repairman.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Brenda Gail Griffin; a daughter, Kristy Lynn Hall and husband Anthony of Jenkins; a son, Phillip Andrew Griffin of Jenkins; and four grandchildren, Patrick Riley Griffin and wife Megan, and Madison Alexis Thompson, all of LaFayette, Ga., and Preston Andrew Griffin and Payton Lee Griffin, both of Jenkins.
Funeral services for Mr. Griffin were held January 3 at Polly & Craft Funeral Home in Jenkins. Burial was in the Ison Cemetery at Slemp.
