Rites held for Rev. Chester Begley

The Rev. Chester Begley, 75, died August 28 at his home in Sharps Chapel, Tenn.

Formerly of Whitesburg, he was a son of the late Gillis and Belle Begley.

He was the widower of Lettie Sexton Begley, the father in-law of the late Michelle Williams Begley, and a brother of the late Marion Begley and Cecil Begley.

He was the founder and pastor of The Little Brown Church.

Surviving are two sons, Chester Wayne Begley and wife Rena, and Jeffrey Allen, all of Sharps Chapel, Tenn.; two daughters, Delana Kay Kiser and husband Ronnie of Sharps Chapel, Tenn., and Devona Buckner and husband Tom, of Halls, Tenn.; three brothers, Thurman Begley, Ray Begley and Leonard Begley, all of Whitesburg; six sisters, Wilma Fields, Athalene Parker, Edith White, Phyllis Combs, Kathy Parker and Shirley Fleming, all of Whitesburg; seven grandchildren, Tommy, Tyler and Todd Begley, Daniel Buckner, Tammy Amburgey, Jessica Mason, and Brandy Osborne; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held August 29. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery.
