Rose Florence Dingus, 84, of Jenkins, died May 10 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born in Jenkins to the late Kelly and Thelma Brown Williams, she was the widow of the Reverend Bobby Ray Dingus.
She was the mother of the late Robert Dingus and Charles Dingus, a grandmother of the late Fon Jay Adkins, and a sister of the late Paul Williams, Thomas Williams and Charles Williams.
She was a former hairdresser and teacher at Mayking Christian School for about 15 years. She was graduated from Clear Creek Bible College in 2000 and held the distinction of being the oldest graduate from the program at the time.
She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Jenkins.
Survivors include a daughter, Rosetta Adkins, of Jenkins; three sons, Joseph Dingus and Carl Dingus and wife Ruthie, all of Beckley, W. Va., and Samuel Dingus and wife Beth, of Florence; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Barker and husband Grover, of Jenkins, and Alma McIntosh, of Zanesville, Oh.; and two brothers, Carl Williams and wife Jean, and Johnny Williams and wife Carolyn, all of Kingsport, Tenn.
Funeral services were held May 13 in Jenkins.
