Rites held for Ruby Collins

Ruby Louise Stallard Collins, 88, died November 23 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Born in Letcher County to the late F.G. and Mary Belle Adams Stallard, she was the widow of Hearl Collins.

She was the mother of the late Larry Grant Collins, and a sister of the late J.W. Stallard, Riley Clay Stallard, and Grant Stallard, Jr.

She was retired from Walmart, and was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Whitesburg.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Craft and husband Chalmer of Whitesburg; two sons, James “Cotton” Collins and wife Sharon of Lexington, and Stanley “Buzz” Collins and wife Bonita of Redfox; eight grandchildren,

William Craft and wife Tracey, and Dewayne Banks, all of Whitesburg, Chris Collins and wife Christina of Louisville, David Collins and wife Cindy of Paintsville, Bradley Grant Collins of Greenville, S.C., Mica Collins of Lexington, Valarie Combs and husband Matt of Louisville, and April Slone and husband Chris of Manchester; nine great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Sydney, Jessica Craft, Aresenio Love, Abigail Lawson, Mason Baker, Paige Collins, Claire Collins and Lou Ann Collins; and a great-great-grandson, Jaxon Able Slone.

Funeral services were held November 28 in Whitesburg. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
