Tommy Homer Rose Sr., 65, died December 20 at his home at Payne Gap.
Born in Letcher County, he was a son of the late Acie and Edna Johnson Rose.
He was the husband of Nina Rose, the father of the late Tim Rose, and a brother of the late Louise Vance and Bobby Jean Duncil.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Tommy Rose II and Bobby Bates of Payne Gap, and Chris Rose and wife Melissa of Burdine; five brothers, Walter Rose of Morristown, Tenn., Larry Rose and Gary Don Rose, both of Payne Gap, Wendell Rose of Jenkins, and Gerald Rose of Pikeville; eight sisters, Lavada Wright and Belva Mullins of Payne Gap, Dorothy Venatter of Somerset, Gaynell Robinson of Indiana, Alice Lockwood of Jenkins, Becky Brown and Freda Rose, both of Pikeville, and Vanessa Stanley of Burdine; six grandchildren, T.J. Jordan, Breaunna, Kaylyn, Braydn and Desmond; and a great-grandchild, Paighton.
Funeral services were held December 23 at Carty Funeral Home, Polly & Craft, in Jenkins. Burial was in Laurel Fork Cemetery in Payne Gap.
