Funeral services for Wilma Hughes, 69, were held December 2 at Everidge Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Burial was in the Bates Cemetery in Ermine.
A daughter of the late Hatler and Maudie Fleming Tackett, she was born in Letcher County. She died November 28 at Pikeville Medical Center.
Mrs. Hughes was the widow of Bobby Dean Hughes. She was also preceded in death by her biological mother, Godie O’Neal; four brothers, Frank Tackett, Gene Tackett, Gary O’Neal, and Curtis O’Neal; two sisters, Dorothy Spartman and Maxie Highfield; and son-in-law, James Pack.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Pack of Cowan; a son, Robert Hughes and wife Kimberly of Mayking; five brothers, Lacey Tackett of Letcher County, Ray Tackett of Paris, and Willis O’Neal and Norman O’Neal, both of Versailles; six sisters, Billy Jean Campbell of Letcher County, Lorraine Dinello, Dorothy O’Neal, Kaye Walker, and Jennifer Traugott, all of Versailles, and Christine Moore of Breathitt County; nine grandchildren, Aderine, Jordan, Kimberly, Savannah, Zack, Lindsey, Cody, Jamie, and Caitlin; and a great-granddaughter, Chloe.
