Frank M. Gales, Sr., 91, died March 30 at his residence in Lexington.
Born in Havana, Ala., he was the son of the late Willie Gales, Sr. and Susie Stewart Gales, and was preceded in death by his former wife, Anna Gales; a grandson, Damarcus Gales; and several brothers and sisters.
He was a U. S. Army veteran and a retired coal miner.
Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Lee and husband Raymond, Jenkins, Vanessa Payne and husband Lawrence, Richmond, and Priscilla Gales, Lexington; four sons, Frank Gales, Jr., Middlesboro, William Gales Sr., Knoxville, Tenn., Clifford Gales, Jenkins, and Timothy Gales and wife Tammy, Lexington; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. April 4 in Lexington. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
