Robert Lee Collins, 72, died June 10 at his home at Jenkins.
Born at Dunham, he was a son of the late Andrew and Grace Collins and was married to the late Glenda Anderson Collins. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Joyce Collins; two sisters, Pauline Collins and Lucille Collins; and two brothers, Paul Collins and Ralph Collins.
He was a retired employee of Food City and had been a police officer in Jenkins. A member of the New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in Jenkins, he preached and sang at various churches. He enjoying running and had participated in running marathons.
Surviving are daughters, Lori Collins and Kim McElroy, both of Sergent, and Jennifer Adams and husband William of Jenkins; sons, Robert Neil Collins and wife Denise, and Timothy Collins and wife Brenda, all of Jenkins; eight grandchildren, Darrin, Andrew, Tara, Kaylin, Kody, Corey, Makayla and Trinity; a great-granddaughter, Payge; a sister, Nancy Benge, Indianapolis, Ind.; and a brother, Larry Collins, Lenoir, N.C.
Funeral services were held June 13 at New Beginnings Assembly of God Church. Burial was in Jenkins Payne Gap Cemetery.
