Robert E. Frazier succumbs at 87




Robert Edwin Frazier, 87, of Cumberland, died October 26 at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Cumberland, he was a son of the late Enoch and Lillie Creech Frazier. He was married to the late Anna Laura Carnahan Frazier.

Frazier was a Army veteran of World War II and was a graduate of Transylvania University. He was owner and operator of Frazier Insurance Agency in Cumberland for 55 years. He had served on the Board of Directors of BB&T Bank, and was a Mason, an honorary Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Lions Club and Cumberland Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by friends, Vera Ison, Alma Cornett, Wanda Helton, and Sheila Duncum, and caregivers, Oma J. Graham, Pauline Clem, Shirley Sturgill, Sherry Hogg, and Carol Ellington.

Funeral services were held October 28 in Benham. Burial was in the Huff Cemetery in Cumberland.
