Robert Sexton Jr., 66, died January 6 at his home in Whitesburg.
Born in Fleming-Neon to the late Robert ‘Preacher Bob’ and Siller Collins Sexton, he was a brother of the late Mary Rose, William Bryan Sexton and Robert Luther Sexton.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served 13 months in Korea during the Vietnam War. He had worked for the Letcher County Board of Education in the early 1970s, and was retired from the City of Whitesburg Water Department.
He was a member of the Whitesburg VFW Post 5829.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Sexton; two sons, Mark A. Sexton and wife Katie, and Robert Shane Sexton and wife Michelle; a sister, Doris Miller, McRoberts; a brother, Andrew Sexton, Whitesburg; and four grandchildren, Amber, Emily, Joseph and Aaron Sexton.
Funeral services were held January 9 at Everidge Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Burial was in Riley Bentley Cemetery at Deane.
