Richie Kotzen, whose guitar prowess has landed him on the cover of Guitar World magazine, will perform at Summit City in Whitesburg on Wednesday, November 12. Tickets, $35 are on sale now but going fast. Kotzen’s latest album, The Essential Richie Kotzen, includes work from his 18 solo albums. Kotzen, who says he was influenced by both his mother’s album collection, which included works by Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin, and his father’s collection, which was heavy on the R&B of Stevie Wonder and Al Green, is a Pennsylvania native also known for his work with the rock bands Winery Dogs, Mr. Big and Poison. In 2006, he served as the opening act for rock superstars The Rolling Stones during that band’s “A Bigger Bang” tour of Japan.
