After taking a couple of weeks off from writing a column, I’m having a hard time getting my mind on catching up with the column.
Hope all had a safe Labor Day weekend and spent it with family and friends.
Lee and Wilma Pridemore, Tommy Harris Smith, Mary Jo, Kenneth and Anna Lou Blair, Don, Coreen, K.P. Pridemore and myself all took our usual Labor Day trip to Ohio, taking in the flea market, and getting together at the home of Roy Kenon and Billie Jean Smith for lunch.
Dad’s brother Lenville and his family and sister Elva and Bill Marshall, also came to be with the family.
Five of the late Hiram and Ella Pridemore children enjoyed being together, as did four of the late Dee and Ethel Smith children.
It’s always good to be with everyone talking old times, comparing flea market bargains, and always a good lunch.
Lee and Wilma spent the night with Billie and Roy, but the rest of us ventured back to our homes.
Lee and Wilma’s greatgrandson, Mason, did very well with his recent heart procedure and was back to himself quickly.
Rodney and Geraldine Ison celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last Saturday. They had many congratulations from family and friends, and an anniversary party cookout on Saturday evening.
They are special to so many throughout the area, and many wished them well.
Recently Lance Breeding spent some time in the hospital at Whitesburg and Pikeville because of mini strokes. He has been home for a week or two, and hopefully is on the mend.
Isom Days have come and gone and looked like a large crowd in attendance. I hope all enjoyed themselves. We had a good lunch from the Shiners’ booth on Saturday.
Stella Elam has a new great- grandbaby. Her grandson Richard Benjamin Wells and his wife are the proud parents. They also have an older son, and with the new baby he will be the big brother.
Our little niece, Londyn Caudill, turned one year old since I wrote last. Her big brother Logan and sister Layla helped her celebrate, as did her cousins. She is Ben and Jacquie Caudill’s daughter.
Evangene Adams, Virginia Dare Back, Mattie Jean Frazier, Anna Lora Adams, Darryl Boggs are just a few of our neighbors and friends who are in need of prayer for health problems.
Ella Mae Fugate celebrated her 90th birthday with many family and friends wishing her a good day. She is another one of the precious and special ladies in our area who has touched so many lives with her kindness.
Jeff, Vicki and Lara Walters came up from London last weekend to visit with Joanne Walters, Jean Hampton and other family and friends. I enjoyed chatting with them at my shop.
I will have the shop closed Saturday, Sept. 13, to attend the Banks reunion.
Sorry I jumped from one thing to another and probably forgot half of what I should have mentioned.
