Roger Eversole, 78, died April 21 at his residence at Lotts Creek.
A son of the late Carl and Grethel Prater Eversole, he was born in Hardburly. He was also preceded in death by a son, Danny Eversole; a brother, Carl Wayne Eversole; and two sisters, Janet Lowe, and Loraine Feltner.
Mr. Eversole loved to work on and restore old cars. He was well known as a gunsmith and possessed the unique talent of “bluing” gun barrels. He enjoyed taking trips with his wife on his motorcycle.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Avanell Gayheart Eversole; a son, Roger D. Eversole and wife Sherry of Lotts Creek; two granddaughters Erica Howard and husband Caleb and Whitney Cornett and husband Travis, all of Whitesburg; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Howard, Damon Howard and Presley Cornett; two brothers, Michael Eversole and wife Louise of London, and Jesse Eversole of Big Creek; and six sisters, Lillian Sparkman, Charlotte Feltner and husband Ronald, Nina Price, Gloria Tartaglia, Karlin Demarcello, and Judy Eversole.
Funeral services were held April 25 at the Kelly Fork Church of God at Lotts Creek. Burial was in the family cemetery at Lotts Creek.
