The grand finale for the Back to Our Appalachian Roots Project was such a success. We had a great time with the gardener, the quilters, the food preservers, the knife maker, the woodworker, the open fire cookers, the shape note singers, and the butter churners. To cap it all off we had games for the kids set to old-time music, and a square dance. What a day!

Both participants and volunteers went home happy but tired after a long day of exploring some of our cultural riches. We will have more of that in the future.

We are excited to resume our Friday Nite Pickin’ starting this week. Y’all come!
