Rotary Club names scholarship winners



Kaylee Whitaker and Brit Jeremy Ray Potter are the winners of the 2020 Rotary Scholarships, given by the Rotary Club of Whitesburg. They will each received a scholarship in the amount of $500.

Kaylee Whitaker is a 2020 graduate of Letcher County Central High School and will attend Morehead State University in the fall to pursue a major in pre-physical therapy. She is the daughter of Lance and Rhoda Whitaker of Whitesburg.

Brit Jeremy Ray Potter is a 2020 graduate of Jenkins High School and will attend the University of Pikeville in the fall, majoring in history and political science. He is the son of Gia and Brit C. Potter, Jr. of Jenkins.

Scholarships winners are selected based on academic achievement, community service, participation in school activities, and financial need. The scholarships are awarded annually to college students who are working on their first degree.
