Roy ‘Ed’ Williams, 71, dies



Funeral services for Roy ‘Ed’ Williams, 71, of Craft’s Colly, were held December 30 at Everidge Funeral Home. Burial was in the Perry Cemetery at Ermine.

A son of the late Bill and Minnie Collins Williams, he died December 27 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was the father of the late Annie Williams, a grandfather of the late Mandy Bentley, and a brother of the late Jack Williams, Carl Williams, Mattie Williams and Sarah Profitt.

He was a member of the Craft’s Colly Missionary Baptist Church, enjoyed working with wood, and was a University of Kentucky sports fan.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Perry Williams; two sons, Roy Williams Jr., Millstone, and Chris Williams, Craft’s Colly; three stepsons, Dennis Mullins and John Henry Mullins, both of Knott County, and Russell Mullins, Ohio; three stepdaughters, Melinda Pease, Craft’s Colly; Marcia Hall, Knott County; and Debbie Damron, Pike County; a brother, David Williams, Whitesburg; a sister, Mary Maxon, Little Colley; and a granddaughter, Hailey Pease, Craft’s Colly.
