Ruby Caudill dies at 100



Ruby Mullins Caudill, 100, of Eolia, died January 9 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.

A daughter of the late Charlie C. Sr. and Nannie Belle Polly Mullins, she was a teacher in the Letcher County School System and spent most of her career at Upper Cumberland School.

She was the widow of Johnny B. Caudill and was preceded in death by a daughter, Guinevere Maldonado; a grandson, John Anthony Miranda; and five brothers and five sisters.

Surviving are a daughter: Deborah Miranda of Thornton; six grandchildren: Ray (Kathleen) Mal- donado and wife Kathleen of North White Plains, N.Y., Yolanda Shur and husband Nicholas of Reston, Va., Angie Holbrook and husband Doug, Andy Miranda and wife Yolanda, and Joe Miranda and wife Tonya, all of Eolia, and Juliana Shelton and husband Kevin of Prestonsburg; 14 greatgrandchildren, John, Sean, Ryan, Daniel, Steven, Brandon, Haley, Jude, Johann, Ruby, Coy, Trevor, Joy, and Michael; and three greatgreat grandchildren: C.J., Mikey, and A.J.

Funeral services were held January 12 at Letcher Funeral Home. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
