Samp Hall, Jr. dies in Indiana


Samp Hall, Jr., 95, died April 13, at his home in Pekin, Ind.

Born in McRoberts to the late Samp Hall, Sr. and Minerva Webb Hall, he was the widower of Glassie Fleming Hall.

Mr. Hall was a retired electrician with Webb & Lee, and was a member of Pekin Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Luther Hall and wife Mona of Pekin, Ind.; five daughters, Linda Pennington and husband Ronnie and Dianna Norris, the widow of Jay Norris, all of Salem, Ind., Shanda Barnabee and husband Jim of Henderson, Marsha Miller and husband Brad of Corydon, Ind., and Barbara Morris and husband Jerry of Starlight, Ind.; a sister, Mildred Collier of Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Tina Hall; 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

A son, Tim Greg Hall; a grandson, Mark Hall; and 10 brothers and four sisters preceded Mr. Hall in death.

Funeral services for Mr. Hall were held Tuesday, April 16, at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Pekin, Ind. Burial was in the Mount Washington Cemetery. www.hughestaylor.net.
