The Acoustic Throwdown was a great success. Thanks, Boyd Davis, for your hard work on all levels. Boyd was the mastermind behind the event. Spectators and participants enjoyed themselves. Thanks to all who showed up to pick and sing. It was delightful and we are so thankful for each of you!
The breakfast with Santa was an absolute blast. Santa flew in special to hang out awhile with us. He is a dancing, singing, jolly ole elf. Check him out on the Black Sheep Facebook page and you will see for yourself. We love you, Santa!!! You are the best.
We are taking Christmas special orders. The schoolhouse rolls are the bomb. If you have a special hard-to-find favorite you can order it from us. Gingerbread is a specialty of ours. We make both gingerbread people and gingerbread in biscuit form. A Black Sheep pie is also a wonderful thing to taste and look at. Call (971)867-4337. We will be open Christmas morning till noon. Only the best for you as always.
There is a rumor that there is no longer music at Hemphill Community Center on Friday nights. There is indeed music each Friday night. Some of the very best pick for us each week. Come see for yourself on Friday at 7 p.m. Support your local musicians. This week the featured artist is Kylie Hall.
Urgent: New Business hours. We have changed things around some to fit demand and to help, as always, to sustain our efforts at Hemphill Community Center. Our new hours are as follows:
Thursday 4:30-9 p.m. Bread and sweets.
Friday 4:30-9 p.m. Pizza, breads, and sweets. Live music 7-9 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m. -12 p.m. Coffee, breads, and sweets.
Watch the Black Sheep Facebook page for new offerings and products. We have new Black Sheep t-shirts and aprons for sale. They would make great Christmas gifts. The slogan on the back of the shirt says “Wood fired hearth and soul”. T-shirts are $20 for S-2LX and $22 for 3XL. Two pocket aprons are $18.
Friday Nite Supper Club: Featured musicians play two 45-minute sets starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. and play a variety of genres. Aspiring musicians and veteran musicians are always welcome to show up and perform. There is a 30-minute break between sets and open mic players are always welcome to fill that time frame. It’s fun to play or listen. There is no cover charge so it’s a laid-back, easy crowd to play for. Come join us in supporting local live music by local singer/picker/songwriters while dining on good Black Sheep Brick Oven Bakery foods. We have some really great acts lined up through the end of the year. Dancing and singing along is encouraged.
We decided to place our unsold bread outside in coolers on Saturdays at noon for folks to take. It will be left on the outside stage until a more suitable arrangement can be made to dispense it. This preservative-free bread is delicious. We hope folks come and take it on Saturdays. It will keep almost a week at room temperature. It will feed the belly and feed the soul. If you are hungry show up early so you can get a loaf. We want you to have first pick.
