Ina Vae Fields, the widow of Dan Fields, died Dec. 22 at 3:30 a.m. at home. She is survived by a son, Danny Keith, and a daughter, Wanda Jane Stamper, a grandson, Jarrod Stamper, a son-in-law, Mark Stamper, a brother, Parnell Fields, and two sisters, Marsha Fields and Rena Vae Callahan. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Madonna Faye Blair, and several sisters and brothers, her husband, Dan, and parents, the late Chester and Izetta Fields.

Audrey Hammonds called from North Vernon, Ind., and said that they were getting a new moderator and assistant moderator at the Old Regular Baptist Church at Dupont, Ind.

Best of luck, and good wishes go out to them.

Freewill Baptist Church at Whitco had a Christmas program called “On the Outside Looking In,” on Sunday, Dec. 21. They had several visitors, and a few people went to the altar. May God bless them and answer their prayers.

Belated happy birthday to Heather Day, who celebrated on Dec. 22.

This was the first year for me to see the Santa Train. It came down Cowan on Dec. 23. It was so exciting to see the little kids when Santa Claus greeted each one and sent them back to the trucks according to their age groups. They all came away with two or three presents, a treat and some stuffed animals. Thanks so much for making a child’s day a little brighter.

Dec. 24, my husband, granddaughters, son Mike and his friend Kay, all went to my brother, Archie’s, house for a gift exchange and to spend some time together. Also attending were Juanita, Little Marty, Big Marty, Kim and Roger Hoskins and Dasia, Wayne, Missy, Dee, Tonya and Alexis and Emily.

Belated happy birthday to Dasia Rae Fields, who celebrated on Dec. 26. She is 13 years old. I hope that you had a good one.

I asked Little Marty what he wanted for Christmas and he said a “sawed-off shotgun.” Hopefully he’s talking about a toy one. He said he wanted to shoot a bear. Oh, the imagination of kids.

Jamie and Mary Maggard became grandparents for the second time on Dec. 23, when their daughter, Cindy Rose, and her husband, Scott Cook, had a baby girl, Haley Brooke Cook, who was named by her older sister, Nicole. Congratulations to both sets of grandparents, the parents, and her older sister, Nicole.
