SCHOLARSHIP








— Kurstin Lee Brook Puckett, a graduating senior at Jenkins High School, received a $500 scholarship from the Rotary Club of Whitesburg. She helped charter an Interact Club at JHS, sponsored by the Rotary Club, and was its first president. She was a Governor’s Scholar, captain of the academic team, skit coordinator for Youth Ministry, senior mentor for the cheer squad, and percussionist in the school band, and played a lead role in the Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come Outdoor Drama. She had a grade point average of 4.058 and will attend the University of Kentucky in the fall. She would like to return to eastern Kentucky after receiving a medical degree. She is the daughter of Chris Puckett and Roxyanne Brown.
