SCHOLARSHIP







— The Rotary Club of Whitesburg presented a $500 scholarship to Kurstin Lee Brook Puckett, daughter of Roxyan Brown and Chris Puckett. She is a 2012 graduate of Jenkins High School and will attend the University of Kentucky this fall. During high school, she served as captain of the academic team, president of the Interact Club, and a member of the school band percussionist section. She participated in the Governor’s Scholars Program and played a leading role in the “Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come” outdoor drama. She plans to major in engineering or the medical field and return to eastern Kentucky after college. The Rotary scholarship award is based on academic performance, school and community involvement and financial need. Presenting the scholarship check was Rotarian Barbara Ison.
