In Kentucky, each school has a council composed of the principal, elected teachers, and elected parents who make many of the most important decisions about how their school will work. The council is a chance to learn about the school, work closely with teachers, and help make the school even more successful than it is now.
The parent members of the council are elected by the parents, receive training, and serve oneyear terms. It’s now time to choose the parent members for 2017-2018.
Nominations are due for Letcher County Central High School, to Cecilia Smith, school secretary, in the school office no later than 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 27. Pick a nomination form up at the school if you are interested in being a candidate.
Voting will be held on Monday, May 8, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the school office.
Results will be announced (and a runoff held if necessary) on Monday, May 8, at 6:15 p.m. in the school office.
